Altitude is a generously sized asymmetrical triangular shawl. It is knitted on the bias sideways and shaped with simultaneous decreases at one edge and increases at the opposite edge of the knitted fabric. Alternating sections of garter stitch and open work stitch patterns make this an engaging and at the same time a relaxing knit. The finishing touch is made by knitting on a mesh border from the picked up stitches along the edge of increases and the provisional cast-on edge of the shawl.
